Being in New York, at Pratt Institute (Spring 2023), learning new techniques and getting lots of questions about Sweden and our traditions, especially the magic and mystery of midsummer, I started to think about my childhood. Walking on meadows, picking seven flowers and putting them under the pillow, waiting for magic. I’ve been interested in flowers and symbolism for a while. In this piece I chose seven flowers that grow in June, flowers you recognize and might have had under your pillow. Created them in metal and enameled them to later connect them to a necklace.
