Cutlery
2023
Silver-plated copper
I find it fun, because I’ve always been very picky when it comes to cutlery. How a fork should look to be ”acceptable”, what a perfect spoon is and which knives are ugly. I’ve had a lot of focus on function. But when I chose to make my own cutlery, I found myself doing the opposite. Did I get too much pressure from myself to make the perfect? Because instead I made them weird, crooked, flowy and non-usable. I took them away from the purpose of cutlery. I made them hollow. The spoon looks blown up and could never hold any liquid. They shifted function and category.
